A changelog that says
what actually shipped.

The protected installer and signed manifest remain the source of truth for the downloadable alpha. Candidate source is labeled separately until its exact artifact identity is verified, and service availability is reported separately from both.

VERSION 0.43.0 · SEQUENCE 127

Adaptive companions, clearer controls, and complete Feed actions

  • Introduced the new white-and-cyan Scrap mascot and matching application icon while preserving Scrap's voice, personality, companion identity, and memory.
  • Replaced the old player-facing companion mode choices with automatic delivery that responds to explicit requests, current gameplay and danger, companion identity and mood, relationship context, and learned conversation rhythm.
  • Kept automatically selected step-by-step guidance when context supports a walkthrough request: ScrapLink uses one actionable step and its visible completion signal at a time, advances after player or current-screen confirmation, and can prioritize verified urgent danger or low-interruption preferences.
  • Added varied companion-specific startup welcomes that can use a permitted player name, remain visible in chat, and respect mute and existing voice routing.
  • Simplified Active Companion controls to companion selection, persistent voice mute, and size; added visible social Profile navigation and aligned responsive panels and action geometry.
  • Improved bounded five-person Crew voice mixing, playback queues, reconnect feedback, participant containment, and frame clipping while retaining the documented HTTP PCM alpha limits.
  • Added persisted Feed comments, capability-gated mutually exclusive Like or Dislike reactions, saved/copy actions, and emoji-ready Unicode input with over-limit drafts preserved for correction.

VERSION 0.42.1 · SEQUENCE 126

Live fallback wording and restored-history hotfix

  • Corrected misleading legacy offline-test wording in the limited emergency fallback so regular Live no longer appears to have entered Test Lab.
  • Normalized the legacy fallback line when restoring recent assistant history, preventing an old message from appearing as a current mode status.
  • Kept the hosted AI and hosted voice configuration unchanged; this hotfix changes fallback wording and restored-history presentation, not provider routing.
  • Verified Windows installer metadata: sequence 126, 643,707,118 bytes, and SHA-256 E085E5CA9163819DA249749A7989EAA42B3253BB79DC02C1AE8DD651001DABAA.

VERSION 0.42.0 · SEQUENCE 125

Unified command interface and verified local speech

  • Promoted the fully qualified Patch Lab interface across Command Center, Crew, Memory, Library, and ScrapLink Social.
  • Unified navigation, movable overlays, responsive layouts, microphone state, and quick companion controls across the desktop experience.
  • Added an account-gated offline speech pack bound to a signed manifest, verified once, and reused locally after initial setup.
  • Verified real Kokoro companion speech and Faster-Whisper transcription on CPU with int8 inference.
  • Kept the manifest-protected core installer below the legacy updater cap by separating verified model weights from application code.
  • Verified Windows installer metadata: sequence 125, 643,710,400 bytes, and SHA-256 0C7D408248FD0D731E3C877E39DBF01D43763C98E7A651C33B70B36DBD1E64CA.

VERSION 0.31.0 · SEQUENCE 37

Friendship and voice upgrade

  • Five companions with distinct hosted voice direction and separate character state.
  • Player-controlled friendship callbacks, optional desktop hangouts, and deeper contextual memory behavior.
  • Protected installer delivery with a signed manifest, monotonic sequence, package-size check, and SHA-256 verification.
  • Published-update verification confirmed settings, account session, and memory survived the upgrade.

SERVICE AVAILABILITY

Six hosted companion voice cues were verified

  • The retained promotion QA records six hosted 24 kHz companion cues verified; current source and packaged diagnostics map Scrap/echo, Vantrel/cedar, NOVA/ash, Rusty Sentinel/ballad, The Iron Hare/verse, and Sable Flint/ash.
  • That evidence does not substitute for a fresh six-route provider probe and does not guarantee current uptime or playback on every tester PC.
  • Crew voice alpha is a separate authenticated 16 kHz mono PCM relay and remains available with explicit alpha-quality limits.
  • No claim is made that Crew voice is WebRTC-grade, end-to-end encrypted, or equivalent to a mature calling service.
