Hey ScrapTHE CURIOUS FIXER
Choose one of six animated companions with verified on-device speech after setup, hosted conversation, grounded game research, permission-based screen awareness, player-controlled memory, FPS operations, and accepted-friend Feed and Crew tools—without injecting into your game.

CURRENT DOWNLOAD · 0.43.0
Build 0.43.0 brings the qualified Live Patch experience into regular Live: the new Scrap mascot and matching app icon, verified-pack on-device speech and transcription, automatic companion pacing, context-selected step-by-step guidance, faster screen-derived reactions, FPS Operations, a local blacklist, and the rebuilt detected-game Library join the redesigned Crew workspace, friend-scoped Feed, persisted comments, Like or Dislike reactions, and emoji-ready social writing.
Crew voice is a 16 kHz mono PCM alpha relay, not a WebRTC-grade or end-to-end encrypted calling service. Retained promotion QA records six hosted 24 kHz companion cues verified, not a fresh availability check.

AVAILABLE IN PUBLIC BUILD 0.43.0
Ask about the detected or named game and ScrapLink can research current facts, show source status, and say when reliable evidence is not available.
The public build includes at least 48,000+ deterministic, context-sensitive scenario variants across its curated profiles, plus general help for other PC games.
When you ask and grant consent, ScrapLink can analyze one current game-window snapshot. Automatic awareness is separately controlled and can be paused.
Each companion has a separate wake name, hosted voice direction, personality, reactions, animation map, relationship state, and companion memory namespace.
Keep a click-through companion above other windows, move it, lock its position, and scale it from 25% to 200%—without injecting into the game.
Friends, Feed, Messages, Channels, and Events share one responsive Crew workspace with presence, search, profiles, direct-message actions, and compact friend cards.
A transparent, movable, resizable panel keeps recent companion turns, a compact composer, and Crew speaking activity near the game while preserving complete text for each retained turn.
Small accepted-friend rooms include join and leave, mute and deafen, participant state, and speaking indicators. The 16 kHz mono PCM relay is an alpha feature—not WebRTC-grade or end-to-end encrypted.
Add friends, control presence, exchange direct messages and images, share Feed posts and media, comment, choose Like or Dislike, save posts, create gaming events, RSVP, block, report, and delete or export supported account data.
Relevant preferences, builds, goals, and relationship moments can shape later replies. Supported memory can be reviewed, corrected, exported, or deleted.
ScrapLink checks an RSA-signed update manifest, trusted host, increasing sequence, package size, and SHA-256 before installing an account-gated alpha update.
After initial account-gated download and verification of the separate offline speech pack, CPU-based companion speech and microphone transcription can run on-device. Hosted assistant text remains online; the local speech path does not send raw microphone audio for transcription or generated text for speech synthesis.
Response style and pacing adapt automatically to the player’s request, the current game and visible danger, companion personality and mood, relationship context, and a learned conversation rhythm. Voice mute remains a direct player control.
With automatic awareness enabled, ScrapLink can react to visible danger, damage, discoveries, fights, and victories. These are vision-derived observations—not direct or hidden game telemetry—and uncertain moments can be ignored.
Detected PC games receive a safe baseline behavior profile. Curated field packs add deeper title-specific language and scenarios, including an expanded Star Citizen pack and reactive Elder Scrolls Online guidance.
A movable operations panel can track confirmed visible kills, headshots, body shots, assists, and deaths when asked. Ambiguous values remain uncounted. Blacklist notes are device-local and isolated by hashed account identity.
Library presents locally detected games with installed artwork when available, filtering, launch and folder actions, and an Add Game flow for titles that need a manual path.
Messages, channel broadcasts, and Feed comments accept pasted Unicode and provide an Emoji shortcut that opens the native Windows picker. Text limits are validated without silently cutting a draft.
NEW IN PUBLIC BUILD 0.43.0
These features are included in build 0.43.0. Their alpha boundaries stay visible because shipping a feature is not the same as promising production-scale availability or mature calling quality.
The denser Friends, Feed, Messages, Channels, and Events workspace keeps accepted-friend activity and communication in one place. Channel views remain local configurations that broadcast through accepted-friend direct messages; they are not server-owned communities or synchronized group-chat history.
A transparent panel provides a recent companion transcript, compact composer, saved move and resize geometry, and Crew voice activity indicators. Each retained turn preserves its complete message text.
Join and leave, mute and deafen, participant state, and speaking indicators are available for small accepted-friend rooms. The relay is 16 kHz mono PCM over HTTP; modern voice transport, device controls, encryption, and broader multi-user quality evidence remain future work.
Create text, image, or video posts for accepted friends; open persisted comments; choose one mutually exclusive Like or Dislike reaction; save a post; or copy its text. Dislike and mutually exclusive reaction state require the social-actions v2 service capability; unsupported actions stay disabled or fail closed.
Messages, channel broadcasts, and Feed comments accept Unicode paste and expose an Emoji shortcut for the native Windows picker. The 800-character social editors reject an over-limit send while preserving the draft for correction.

This release promotes the companion, gameplay, operations, and Library work in the normal public build. The orange-neon layer marks actions and live context; cyan remains the system and navigation signal.
Once the separate speech pack bound to the signed manifest is installed, CPU-based on-device speech and transcription can run without per-sentence voice charges. Each companion retains one selected character voice across proactive reactions and direct answers.
The companion derives its current response shape and speaking cadence from the player’s words, live game context, danger, character identity, relationship context, and learned conversation rhythm. Mute remains under direct player control.
The vision cadence prioritizes visible threats, damage, discoveries, combat outcomes, and return-to-game context. Reactions remain screen-derived, consent-controlled, and deliberately fail closed when confidence is low.
When adaptive delivery selects step-by-step help for a walkthrough request, ScrapLink uses one actionable step and its visible completion signal at a time, advancing after player or current-screen confirmation. Verified urgent danger and low-interruption preferences can take priority. When a current game fact is not known, it can use the hosted research path and report whether reliable source evidence was available.
A movable scoreboard-style panel tracks only confirmed visible FPS events and keeps an account-isolated local blacklist with player notes for later on-screen reminders.
The rebuilt Library uses detected local game artwork when available, keeps controls aligned in the same command shell as Crew and Memory, and lets the player add a missing executable manually.
FPS OPERATIONS · SYNTHETIC QA DATAZERO-FUSS SETUP
No command prompt or Python setup is required. ScrapLink installs per user, creates its shortcut, connects to the hosted service, and—after sign-in—securely downloads and verifies the separate offline speech pack during initial voice setup.

Server-owned groups, real call signaling, hardened voice transport, reconnect and device controls, accessibility, and evidence-based return-to-game workflows.
THE NORTH STAR
ScrapLink’s long-term category is not “another chat app.” It is a player-controlled bridge between the game, the companion, the people you trust, and the next session. Direction is labeled separately from shipped capability.
Named competitor products are not used as proof of current ScrapLink parity or superiority.PLAIN-LANGUAGE DATA BOUNDARIES
ScrapLink will not sell personal information or player data. Hosted and social features still process or store the data required to provide them.
Gameplay field memory is isolated per signed-in account. General conversation and relationship memory remains local to this Windows profile and separated by companion.
When invoked, prompts and relevant context, a local speech transcript, research queries, or one current screenshot can be sent to ScrapLink’s service and configured providers. The normal on-device speech path does not send raw microphone audio for transcription.
Accounts, friendships, presence, direct messages, attachments, Feed posts and media, comments, reactions, saved-post markers, events, RSVPs, blocks, and reports are stored by the ScrapLink service. Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Manual analysis is player-triggered. Automatic awareness is separately controlled. Raw screenshots are not written into player memory or shared game knowledge.
Supported memory can be reviewed, corrected, exported, or deleted. Account data can be exported, sessions revoked, and the service account deleted.
HTTPS, security headers, account-gated downloads, an RSA-signed update manifest, increasing sequence, size checks, and SHA-256 protect delivery. The installer is not advertised as Windows publisher-signed.
QUICK ANSWERS
Public build 0.43.0, sequence 127. The protected installer is 622.3 MB; its full SHA-256 is published on the changelog.
No. Hosted conversation, optional hosted companion voice, vision, accounts, friends, messages, attachments, presence, Feed posts and media, comments, reactions, saved-post markers, events, research, and update delivery process or store the data needed for those features. The privacy page maps the boundaries.
No. Build 0.43.0 channel views are local configuration that broadcasts through accepted-friend direct messages. A server-owned group model is still future work.
No. Build 0.43.0 includes an authenticated small-room 16 kHz mono PCM alpha relay. ScrapLink does not claim WebRTC-grade quality, end-to-end encryption, or parity with mature communication platforms.
July 23 promotion QA records six hosted 24 kHz companion cues verified. Current source and packaged diagnostics map Scrap/echo, Vantrel/cedar, NOVA/ash, Rusty Sentinel/ballad, The Iron Hare/verse, and Sable Flint/ash. That is not a fresh six-route provider probe or a promise of current availability and playback.
No honest system does. ScrapLink can research when a current fact is needed and should say when reliable evidence cannot be verified instead of inventing an answer.
The language model runs on the hosted service. After initial verified setup, speech synthesis and microphone transcription use CPU-based local models; performance still varies by PC and audio device. Characters use bounded transparent frames instead of real-time 3D rendering, and Low Performance Mode reduces local presentation work.
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → ScrapLink → Uninstall. You can also use Start menu → ScrapLink → Uninstall ScrapLink. Uninstall preserves your local settings and memories by default.
The alpha targets 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is not packaged for macOS or Linux.
